Carl Levin "considers" increase in troops.

 

President Bush is likely to link any short-term increase in U.S. troop levels in Iraq to political milestones or other conditions, a key Senate Democrat said Thursday, saying he might consider backing such a "surge" if those conditions are right.

This sort of crud irritates me to no end. Why that’s mighty big of you Carl. Of course you don’t have any say in what the military does or doesn’t do. YOU ARENT THE COMMANDER IN CHIEF. Bush is and the decision is his. The only power you democrats have is the power to cut off funding and despite your greatest efforts you do NOT have the political backing to cut funding for the troops in the field.

SO all of your talk about backing or not backing is irrelevant. I WISH that the republicans would put their feet to the fire on it...but of course bipartisanship is the name of the game now in Washington while both parties get along to shaft the public on everything from minimum wage increases to illegal immigrant amnesty.
